- January 2025: I was excited to go back to the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology Centre at MSU Baroda, India, where I did my master’s to talk about my research and spread the lore of giant viruses and their implications in eukaryogenesis (the origin of the eukaryotic cell). The students asked some great questions too!
- February 2024: I published an article on Virginia Tech’s Center for Communicating Science page titled “Abdeali Jivaji: Why humans wouldn’t exist without giant viruses” where I present a recently emerging hypothesis on how giant viruses have been involved in the evolution of Eukaryotes almost 2 billion years ago. - November 11th, 2023: I participated in Nutshell talks which gave me an opportunity to talk about Giant Viruses in simple terms understandable by a general audience not from my field. It was a lot of fun and helped me further expand my outreach skills
